Pros: You get decent PTO, and management usually understands if you need to leave early for an appointment. For many onsite roles, it's pretty structured which can be good if you like routine.
Cons: During peak periods, especially with tight deadlines for product testing, you're expected to put in extra hours. It can be tough to completely unplug when projects get intense, which affects my personal life. There's not much flexibility for remote work for most lab-based positions in the Kentwood, MI lab.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better to prevent constant crunch periods. Consider more support staff during busy times to help reduce the burden on existing teams.

Pros: I've learned a ton about testing services and quality assurance here. The actual Project Engineer work is pretty interesting, and I get to work on cool projects. My direct manager is usually solid, which makes day-to-day operations bearable.
Cons: Upper management often feels really out of touch with the ground-level work. They don't seem to understand the daily challenges we face in the lab environment. There's a real lack of transparency on corporate decisions that directly affect us.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the people on the ground doing the actual testing services work. Be more visible and clearly explain decisions, especially those impacting technical roles and the lab environment. Invest in better leadership training for managers who struggle with communication.
