Okay Work-Life, Busy Seasons Hit Hard
Pros: For many Global Mobility Specialist roles, the hybrid model helps a lot. You get some flexibility to work remote, which is a big plus. PTO is pretty standard and easy to use.
Cons: The relocation industry gets super busy at certain times, which means long hours are unavoidable. It can feel like you're always playing catch-up, especially in summer. Management doesn't always staff enough during these peak times.
Advice to Management: Please try to staff up more during the peak seasons in global mobility. It would really help prevent burnout for the teams. Consider better ways to manage workload spikes.

Benefits are okay, but pay could be better
Pros: The health benefits package is solid; it covers a lot, which is a big plus. I also appreciated the decent PTO accrual right from the start. It's good for a remote position.
Cons: Pay for my role as a Relocation Coordinator wasn't great. Raises were really small, barely keeping up with inflation. It felt under market value for global mobility roles, honestly.
Advice to Management: Seriously review the salary bands for entry and mid-level global mobility roles. Better compensation would really boost morale and reduce turnover for people like Relocation Coordinators.

Decent Hybrid Work, Still Room for More Flexibility
Pros: The company does offer a hybrid work model, which is a big plus for a corporate environment like this. I could work remote a couple days a week, which really helped with my commute into the Chicago office. It's a solid perk in the global mobility industry.
Cons: True work flexibility outside of the set hybrid schedule isn't always there. Sometimes it felt like I couldn't shift my hours much, even for appointments. As a Relocation Coordinator, my day was often tied to client calls, making spontaneous changes tough.
Advice to Management: Try to give managers more autonomy to approve flexible hours beyond the standard hybrid model. It would really improve morale for roles like a Relocation Coordinator.

Okay for a Start, But Growth is Slow
Pros: The initial training for new Relocation Coordinator roles is solid. You learn a lot about international moves and logistics. It's also fully remote, which is great for work flexibility.
Cons: Career growth here is tough. There aren't many opportunities to advance beyond your current position. I didn't see clear pathways for promotion or skill development in this corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career progression paths for employees. Invest in professional development programs to help people move up.

Sirva's Culture: Stable but a bit corporate
Pros: I've been a Relocation Coordinator here for a few years. It's a stable job in the global mobility industry. You get decent benefits and a steady 40-hour week. The work-life balance isn't bad for a corporate environment.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit rigid and old-school. There's not much room for quick changes or innovation. Decision-making is slow, and it often feels like you're just a cog in a big corporate machine. Flexibility for remote work isn't great; most roles are hybrid or onsite at the Chicago area office.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage more innovation and empower teams to make decisions faster. It would also help to review the remote work policy to stay competitive.

Job security is okay, but can be shaky
Pros: It's a big player in the global relocation services industry, so that brings some stability. For a Global Mobility Coordinator in the Chicago office, there's always work to do, keeping things steady day-to-day. You don't usually worry about sudden job loss out of nowhere, just internal changes.
Cons: There have been some rounds of layoffs, which makes you a bit nervous. Upper management changes a lot too, so you never quite know the direction things are going. It makes long-term job security for certain administrative roles feel less solid.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more transparency regarding company changes and future plans. Consistent leadership would help employees feel more secure in their positions.
