Senior Consultant

Solid place if you value job security.
Pros: I felt pretty secure in my role as a Senior Consultant. There's a steady stream of client projects, so you're rarely without work. The client engagement pipeline is usually robust, especially in the Atlanta office.
Cons: While secure, career growth can be slow. It's not a place for rapid promotions unless you push hard. Sometimes project changes happen suddenly, but they usually re-staff you quickly.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer career paths and more proactive internal mobility. Recognize and reward performance beyond just project delivery.

Pay is solid, benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for a Junior Software Developer at RPC in Austin, TX is actually pretty competitive. They do offer a yearly performance bonus, which is a nice perk for a mid-sized tech company.
Cons: Health insurance costs are a bit high, and the deductible is not great. The 401k match is only 3%, which feels low for the software engineering industry. There's also no real opportunity for stock options here.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing the health benefit plans and increasing the 401k match. It would help attract and retain top talent in the competitive Austin tech market.

Field Engineer

Good pay for oilfield work, benefits just okay
Pros: Base salary for a Field Engineer is actually quite competitive. When you're busy in the oilfield services sector, the overtime pay is really good and makes up for a lot. They do pay well for the long hours and onsite demands.
Cons: The health insurance plans have really high deductibles, which stings. Dental and vision coverage isn't great either. There's not much of a 401k match compared to other energy companies, which is a big con.
Advice to Management: Look into lowering health insurance costs for employees. Better retirement matching would also help with retention, especially for seasoned Field Engineers.

Decent Culture, But Can Be Stuffy for Engineers
Pros: The people here are genuinely nice, which makes daily work pretty okay. There's a solid focus on collaboration within our project teams. For a big corporate company like RPC, they do try to organize some team-building events, which is a plus.
Cons: Innovation moves really slow. As a Software Engineer, it's tough when you're used to quicker sprints elsewhere. The company culture can feel a bit old-school, especially in the Seattle office, with a lot of hierarchy that slows decisions down. Don't expect a fast-paced startup vibe.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and streamline approval processes to foster a more agile and innovative environment. This would really help with employee engagement for technical roles.

Junior Financial Analyst

Decent pay, but benefits really need a boost
Pros: As a Junior Financial Analyst, my base salary was pretty fair for the professional services industry here in the Chicago office. They do offer a pretty good 401k match, which is a solid perk.
Cons: The health insurance plans are kind of expensive, and dental coverage isn't great. You don't see big annual raises, so that's tough in this corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Look into making the healthcare plans more affordable and competitive. Better dental and vision coverage would go a long way for employees. Also, review the annual raise structure.
