Pros: Working on interesting aerospace projects remotely from home is a solid plus. You get to tackle some unique challenges as a Software Engineer, which is cool. There's good technical talent among peers.
Cons: Upper leadership often feels disconnected from the day-to-day work, especially in our engineering roles. Getting clear direction on new initiatives can be tough, leading to rework. I wish there was more proactive communication from management on company strategy.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the ground-level engineering teams. Improve transparency on strategic decisions and career paths; it helps everyone know where they stand.

Pros: The health insurance is really decent, definitely a plus. They have a pretty good 401k match too, which helps with long-term planning. For a government contractor, the benefits are actually quite competitive, especially in the Northern Virginia area.
Cons: Salaries for software engineer roles, especially entry-level tech roles like mine, are just average. There's not much room for big annual raises. Don't expect huge bonuses; they're pretty rare here.
Advice to Management: Management should seriously look at salary benchmarks for the aerospace tech industry to attract and retain top talent. Offering more regular bonuses or clearer paths for salary growth would make a big difference.
