Recruiting Coordinator

Pay is decent, but benefits could improve
Pros: My base salary as a Recruiting Coordinator was pretty solid for a startup in the HR tech industry. They do offer good PTO and I liked working remote from Austin, TX. It's nice to have that flexibility.
Cons: The health insurance plans aren't great, and the out-of-pocket costs are too high. There's no real bonus structure for talent acquisition roles, which feels off. Don't expect amazing 401k matching; it's pretty minimal.
Advice to Management: Seriously look into better health insurance options. The current plans make it hard for employees to justify staying. Also, consider implementing a performance-based bonus for talent acquisition roles; it's standard in the industry.

Leadership needs some work, but good people
Pros: The folks you work with day-to-day are really supportive. As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, I appreciated the autonomy given for sourcing candidates. Plus, the remote work flexibility is a huge plus here.
Cons: Leadership doesn't always have a clear vision, which makes planning tough. Decisions often feel last-minute. This is especially true for an HR tech startup trying to scale quickly.
Advice to Management: Work on consistent communication and strategy. Give teams a clearer roadmap to follow, especially for long-term projects.

Culture's fine, but some parts are tough
Pros: I've had some really good colleagues here, especially within my immediate team. The work-from-home setup is solid for a **Talent Acquisition Specialist**, giving me good flexibility. We're doing impactful work in the **recruitment industry**, which is rewarding.
Cons: Company-wide communication isn't great; it often feels like the **remote from Austin** team misses out. The overall **company culture** feels a bit disjointed, and there's a definite sense of 'us vs. them' between departments. It's not the most inclusive environment if you're not in the main office.
Advice to Management: Please work on improving company-wide communication and making remote employees feel more integrated. Invest in team-building activities that genuinely include everyone, not just those in HQ. A more cohesive culture would help a lot.

Okay Place, But Job Security Can Be Tricky
Pros: I liked the remote work flexibility as a Talent Acquisition Specialist here. The team was pretty supportive, and they do try to keep morale up with virtual events. It's a solid place for getting your foot in the door in the recruitment industry.
Cons: Job security isn't the strongest at Second Talent. When client contracts change, or the market dips, you definitely feel the pressure. It's tough in a startup environment like this, even remote from Austin, TX, you hear the whispers.
Advice to Management: Transparency about future projects and client pipelines would really help ease job security fears. More stable project assignments could make a big difference for us recruitment professionals.

Remote Life's Okay for a Recruitment Consultant
Pros: Working as a Recruitment Consultant here is pretty flexible. I'm remote from Denver, which helps a lot. For a mid-sized startup, they really trust us with our schedules. Most weeks are solid 40-hour weeks for talent acquisition.
Cons: It's not always perfect, though. Peak hiring seasons can get intense. Sometimes client demands mean working past normal hours. It's tough to fully switch off when you're always WFH.
Advice to Management: Management should really focus on managing client expectations better. And maybe offer more resources for WFH folks to help separate work and home life.
