Okay for starting, but growth is tough.
Pros: It's a solid place to get your foot in the door if you're new to the retail food service industry. You learn a ton about customer service really quickly. For onsite barista roles, it's a good entry point.
Cons: Beyond a shift supervisor, career growth for baristas is pretty limited here at this large coffee chain. It feels like you hit a ceiling fast unless you have a degree or years of management experience. There aren't many opportunities to move into corporate roles.
Advice to Management: Create clearer and more accessible growth paths for long-term baristas. Offer more internal development programs to help people move up without needing a degree.

Leadership needs more empathy in this corporate environment
Pros: You learn a lot about managing people and daily retail operations. The team in my Singapore office was always solid, we really helped each other out. It's a decent place to start if you're new to the food & beverage industry.
Cons: Leadership often feels out of touch. Decisions come down that don't make sense for actual store-level staff, especially as a Shift Supervisor. There's not much support when things get really stressful onsite.
Advice to Management: Upper management needs to spend more time in the stores. Listen to the Shift Supervisors and baristas, we know what's really happening on the ground. Improve communication on why certain decisions are made for retail operations.
