OKOsix was founded to set new standards for planet-friendly disposable products and advance a sustainable circular economy. We tackle plastic pollution at its source by developing plant-based alternatives to fossil-fuel plastics.
With OKOmer, we source FROM NATURE to create raw materials that run seamlessly on existing production lines. These materials are used in medical masks, gowns, cosmetic facial masks, wipes, and moldable applications such as diagnostic tests. OKOmer products can be disposed of as ordinary waste — no complex recycling required — as they fully biodegrade and return TO NATURE.
For durable applications, OKOplastics offers 100% recyclable, low-carbon bioplastics made from renewable feedstocks, suitable for packaging, automotive components, consumer goods, and electronics.
As a pioneer in green plastics, OKOsix is recognized by Global Market Insights as the innovator behind the world’s first medical-grade biodegradable face mask. Our patent-pending technology has received the Gold Award at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (2022), and the Healthcare Innovation and Technology Award from the World Institute of Sustainable Development Planners. OKOsix also stands out in global startup competitions including TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield 2025 (Global Top 200), SWITCH Slingshot 2025 (Global Top 60), and EPIC 2025 Best Pitcher Award.

Pros: As a remote software engineer, I've found the work-life balance here pretty good most of the time. You can usually manage your own hours well, hitting around 40-hour weeks. It's great being able to work from Texas without commuting.
Cons: There are definitely crunch times, especially before big product launches in this tech startup environment. Sometimes I felt like I was online too much, past standard hours. It can be tough to completely log off when you're working from home.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for project deadlines to avoid last-minute crunch periods. Supporting remote employees in disconnecting after hours would also be helpful.
