Pros: For us in customer support, they do try to accommodate shift swaps if you plan ahead, which is a big plus when you need it. As a Customer Service Representative at this large corporate telecommunications company, having set schedules means you know what to expect.
Cons: Work from home isn't really an option for most in the Hong Kong office, especially for my role. Flexibility around daily start/end times is super limited; you're on a strict schedule. It can be tough if you have appointments.
Advice to Management: Consider more hybrid work options for roles that can support it. Even one or two WFH days a week would boost morale for frontline staff.

Pros: Job security here is really solid, which is great for telecom professionals. You don't have to worry about layoffs much. The benefits package is also pretty decent for a large corporate company.
Cons: Career growth for a Network Engineer feels super slow in the Hong Kong office. It's tough to move up without a lot of waiting. Innovation sometimes gets stifled by all the bureaucracy, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into speeding up career progression paths for technical roles like Network Engineers. Also, try to encourage more internal innovation to stay competitive in the telecommunications industry.

Pros: The medical and dental benefits are solid for a corporate environment. You get annual leave that's on par with other big companies in the communications sector. It's a stable job with good job security here.
Cons: Base salaries for Network Engineer roles aren't super competitive, especially for the workload. There isn't much room for significant pay increases unless you move up. Raises are usually pretty small, making it tough to keep up with cost of living in Hong Kong.
Advice to Management: Review the salary bands for technical roles like Network Engineer to be more competitive. Consider better performance-based bonuses to motivate staff across the telecom industry.
