Good Start, Limited Growth for Software Engineers
Pros: As a junior software engineer here, I definitely learned a lot about our core cloud infrastructure and internal systems. The initial onboarding for entry-level engineering roles in the Austin, TX office was actually pretty solid and you get decent exposure to different parts of the tech stack.
Cons: After that initial ramp-up, it's really tough to find new challenges or move up. There aren't many clear paths for career advancement beyond the senior level, especially for backend developers. I felt a bit stuck and like I hit a ceiling after about two years.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to create clearer career ladders and invest in mentorship programs for all software development roles. It would help engineers see a path forward and feel more invested in staying.
