Junior Web Developer

Great Place to Learn and Grow in Digital
Pros: I've really enjoyed the collaborative team environment at Vodjo, especially as a Junior Web Developer. Getting to work on diverse projects in this digital agency was great for learning new tech and improving my coding skills. The mentorship from seniors is invaluable, and the company culture promotes continuous learning in Jakarta. Good work flexibility too.
Cons: Project deadlines can be tight occasionally, creating busy periods. While there are learning opportunities, the career progression path isn't always super clear-cut. Communication between different project teams could be a bit more streamlined.
Advice to Management: Continue to foster the learning environment and perhaps develop more structured career progression plans for junior roles. Enhancing inter-team communication would also be beneficial for project efficiency.

Pay is Okay, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The health insurance benefits were pretty solid for a tech startup. They covered a good chunk of the premiums. Plus, there's some remote work flexibility, which is a nice perk if you're not fully WFH.
Cons: The base salary for Software Engineer roles just isn't very competitive, especially here in Austin, TX. I definitely felt underpaid compared to similar jobs. Also, don't expect much in terms of performance bonuses or stock options at this growth-stage tech company.
Advice to Management: Vodjo management should really re-evaluate compensation bands for engineering roles, especially considering the competitive Austin tech market. Offering better stock options or performance incentives would help attract and retain talent.
