Decent but work-life balance can get tricky

Pros: For the most part, my typical day as a Production Engineer involved standard 9-6 hours at the Kuala Lumpur office. We usually stuck to predictable production schedules, which helped maintain a decent work-life balance for onsite work. There wasn't much expectation for weekend work, which was a huge plus.
Cons: When big industrial automation projects hit, it was tough. We'd often work late to meet tight deadlines, affecting my personal time. Sometimes, the supply chain issues meant unexpected long hours to keep things moving. It wasn't always easy to switch off.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project timelines. Maybe add more resources during peak industrial automation project phases so employees don't burn out. This would really help the work-life balance for your engineers. Show more

Production Supervisor

Leadership is decent, but could use some focus

Pros: The senior leadership team generally tries to be fair. They understand the challenges of the manufacturing industry. There's a decent focus on safety for onsite work, which is good.
Cons: Middle management sometimes feels disconnected from the ground level. As a Production Supervisor, I often felt my input wasn't really heard. Communication could be clearer for industrial production changes.
Advice to Management: Really listen to your Production Supervisors and other frontline staff. Their insights are key to smoother operations in the manufacturing industry. Improve communication channels. Show more

Good for entry-level, but career path unclear.

Pros: I learned a lot about industrial processes and machinery maintenance during my time. The team support for onsite work was solid, and the basic benefits package was decent for Kuala Lumpur standards.
Cons: Career growth is really limited. There aren't many clear paths for advancement for Production Engineer roles. You feel stuck at one level for a long time, even with good performance. Promotions just don't happen often.
Advice to Management: Establish clear promotion criteria and develop structured training programs for career advancement. Show employees there's a future beyond their current role. Show more
