Work-life balance can be a real struggle here
Pros: I've learned a lot in this tech industry role. The team is pretty supportive, especially for Software Engineers, and you do get to work on some interesting projects in the Kuala Lumpur office. They try to offer hybrid work options sometimes.
Cons: Work-life balance for Software Engineers is tough. Long hours are common, and there's pressure to hit aggressive deadlines. Don't expect to leave exactly at 5 PM often; overtime is just part of the culture here.
Advice to Management: Leadership needs to really address the workload expectations for engineers. More realistic project timelines and better resource allocation would help reduce burnout across the tech industry teams. Emphasize actual work-life balance, not just talking points. Show more
