Tough hours but solid learning in consulting
Pros: As a Junior Consultant in the New York City office, I learned a ton about management consulting really fast. You get to work on diverse client deliverables, which is a great experience. It's a solid resume builder, especially for entry-level consulting roles.
Cons: Work-life balance is pretty rough here. Expect long hours, often 60+ hour weeks, especially when nearing project deadlines. It's hard to switch off, and the company expects you to be available even with hybrid work arrangements.
Advice to Management: Try to manage client expectations better so teams aren't always stretched so thin. More support for Junior Consultant roles would also help reduce burnout. Show more
