Pay is Okay, Benefits Need Work
Pros: They do offer an annual bonus, which is a nice perk. For a mid-sized company in system integration, the basic health coverage is decent.
Cons: Pay here is just okay; it's not very competitive for experienced System Engineer roles. Benefits package felt pretty basic, there aren't many extra perks or significant allowances compared to competitors in the Kuala Lumpur office.
Advice to Management: Revisit salary bands for experienced System Engineers to stay competitive in the IT solutions market. Enhancing the benefits package beyond basic health would also help with retention.

Leadership has its moments, but overall okay
Pros: The team here is solid, colleagues are genuinely helpful. You get decent exposure to various IT solutions as a System Analyst, which helps with learning. It's mostly onsite work, so you build good relationships.
Cons: Management decisions can feel slow sometimes, especially for new software development projects. There's not always a clear vision from leadership, which can make planning tough. Work flexibility isn't their strong suit.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate project goals more clearly and make decisions faster. It would really help teams, especially with complex IT projects.

Okay Hybrid, Needs More Trust for Flexibility
Pros: YL SYSTEMS SDN BHD does offer some hybrid work. As a Software Developer, I could do 2-3 days WFH, which was decent. It's nice to avoid the Kuala Lumpur traffic a few times a week. That small bit of flexibility helped my commute a lot.
Cons: They're pretty strict about the onsite days though. You can't just swap your days without a long approval process, even for simple systems integration projects. There's not much trust for full remote options, even when the work could easily be done from home. Wish they'd loosen up a bit on their work-from-office mandates.
Advice to Management: Trust your employees more with their schedules. Evaluate roles for true remote potential instead of blanket onsite mandates for all IT roles. More flexible policies would definitely boost morale and help attract talent in the competitive Malaysian tech scene.
