Project Coordinator

Leadership here needs a serious look.
Pros: The work itself, especially on residential projects, can be interesting for a Project Coordinator. You get solid hands-on experience in property development. Plus, the team you work with directly is usually pretty supportive, making daily tasks bearable.
Cons: Leadership is a big problem in the Kuala Lumpur office. There's a real lack of clear direction from senior management, which makes planning tough. They don't seem to value employee input much, and it's frustrating trying to get things done without proper guidance.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership needs to seriously work on communication and actually listen to their teams. Invest in leadership training to build trust with employees and provide clearer strategies for property development projects.

Assistant Project Manager

Decent place, but work-life balance is tough
Pros: You get to work on some interesting residential construction projects in Kuala Lumpur. The team collaboration is pretty solid, and everyone generally tries to help out when things get crazy.
Cons: The work-life balance here isn't great, honestly. As an Assistant Project Manager, I'm often doing over 50 hours a week with lots of unexpected onsite work, which cuts into personal time big time. Weekends aren't always safe either.
Advice to Management: Management needs to really look at staffing levels for projects. More resources or better project scheduling would help reduce the constant crunch for those of us in onsite roles.

Decent entry-level, but career path's unclear
Pros: You learn the basics of construction project management really fast. The team is supportive, especially for new hires in onsite roles. It's a solid place to get your foot in the door for real estate development.
Cons: There's not a clear path for career growth here, especially for Project Coordinator roles. Promotions feel pretty rare, and you can get stuck at one level for a long time. The corporate structure doesn't really encourage moving up.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career progression paths and offer more training for employees looking to move up. Invest in skill development for existing staff.
