Pros: Job security is solid, which is nice in the public sector. The team dynamic among frontline staff in our Calgary office is generally good; we support each other. It's a busy, active environment, which keeps things from getting too boring.
Cons: Upper leadership often makes decisions without understanding the impact on daily airport operations. Communication from the top down is pretty lacking, and it feels like feedback doesn't really go anywhere. There's not much clear direction or encouragement for growth for onsite roles.
Advice to Management: Please try to be more present and involved with the teams on the ground. Listen to the people who are actually performing the airport operations tasks. Improve communication and transparency around decision-making, and offer clearer paths for career development.
