CLEF is Clean and Effective. We believe that beauty should be stress-free and straightforward, so our products are safe, user-friendly, and most befitting of hot tropical weather - as products of a Malaysian brand should be!
How each product is born: our R&D team conducts surveys with at least 300 potential customers to identify the significant pain points and gaps in the market. Then, we perfect the formula in the lab until we achieve fast, safe, and long-lasting results.
Thus, we developed our breakthrough products: the 9-in-1 Copper Peptide Mask, the Hydrating Cleansing Gel, and CLEF’s newest Radiant Gold Essence, a fast-absorbing collagen booster.
Since then, we have expanded our retail channels to Shopee and major retailer SASA Malaysia. Now, we strive to create better solutions to address the diverse concerns of our growing customer base.
Priding ourselves in our flat hierarchy and lean working culture, we foster an openly collaborative environment, welcoming ideas from anyone. In this fast-evolving team, everyone is constantly growing and thriving, making every day an exciting day here at CLEF.

Pros: You get decent exposure to the beauty industry here. For a Marketing Coordinator, the day-to-day hours are usually predictable. Most weekends are truly free, which helps with personal plans.
Cons: When big product launches or marketing campaigns hit, expect really long hours. It's tough working late evenings onsite at the Los Angeles office. Sometimes, it feels like there isn't enough staff to manage the workload.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better or consider bringing in temp staff for peak marketing campaigns. It would really help with employee burnout.

Pros: The health insurance is surprisingly solid for a startup company. I like the employee discounts on our beauty products, that's a nice perk. The hybrid model for the Los Angeles, CA office is a plus.
Cons: My salary as a Marketing Coordinator feels a bit low for the cosmetics industry in Los Angeles, CA. Raises aren't frequent, and there's not much of a bonus structure. PTO accrual is pretty slow, especially for a startup company.
Advice to Management: Review compensation benchmarks for beauty marketing roles in Los Angeles. Consider more regular salary reviews and improved PTO for long-term retention.
