Pros: When I started as a Relationship Manager, the financial services industry was still figuring out WFH. AmBank Group had a decent hybrid work model initially, letting us mostly choose. It was good to have some control over my schedule, especially with client meetings.
Cons: But things changed, especially at the Kuala Lumpur office. Now, it's mostly mandatory three days onsite, sometimes more. For client-facing banking roles, it feels like they pull back on the 'flexibility' part. It's tough to balance personal stuff with the fixed office days.
Advice to Management: Consider re-evaluating the current hybrid work model. Giving employees more autonomy over their onsite days would significantly improve morale and support better work-life balance for all roles, especially client-facing ones.
