Pros: You get solid experience working with real-world data in the upstream petroleum industry. As a Junior Geologist, there's a good learning curve on the technical side, especially if you're onsite at the Kuala Lumpur office. The team members are generally helpful.
Cons: Career growth is really slow. It's hard to move up, and there aren't many opportunities for promotion, especially for younger staff in technical roles like geology. The path for advancement isn't clear at all.
Advice to Management: Create clearer paths for advancement, especially for engineering and geology roles. Invest in mentorship programs to help young professionals see a future here. We need more transparency on internal opportunities.
