Stable Aerospace Company with Great Benefits
Pros: Working as an Aerospace Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace is really stable. The pay and benefits, especially the health coverage and retirement plans, are excellent for a large corporate company in the defense industry. I also get to work on diverse, challenging projects with great learning opportunities and supportive colleagues in Phoenix, AZ.
Cons: The internal promotion process can feel a bit slow sometimes, and navigating the large corporate bureaucracy for approvals can occasionally be tedious.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining the internal promotion pathways and reducing some of the bureaucratic hurdles to empower teams more quickly.

Great Place to Grow in Aerospace Tech
Pros: Working here as a Software Engineer, I've really appreciated the chance to learn new technologies in the aerospace industry. My colleagues are incredibly supportive, always willing to help out, which makes tackling complex projects much easier. The company offers a pretty stable environment, which is reassuring.
Cons: The only real con is that sometimes, being a large organization, processes can feel a bit slow, especially when it comes to internal approvals or getting promotions. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of.
Advice to Management: Consider streamlining some of the internal approval processes to enhance efficiency and speed up career progression.

Great place to learn and grow in Aerospace
Pros: Working as an Aerospace Engineer here has been great. The pay and benefits are really solid, which makes a big difference. It's a stable company in the aerospace industry with good job security. I've learned a lot, working on cool technologies. Plus, my team is very supportive and collaborative.
Cons: Moving up can be a bit slow, promotions don't happen super fast. Sometimes, you run into typical big company bureaucracy which can make processes take longer. Internal communication could also be more streamlined across different groups.
Advice to Management: I'd suggest leadership focuses on making career progression clearer and faster, particularly for high performers. Improving cross-departmental communication and streamlining some of the more complex approval processes would also really help efficiency.

Hybrid model is okay, but could be better.
Pros: They do offer a hybrid model, which is nice. As an Aerospace Engineer, I get 2-3 days WFH, which helps cut down on the commute to the Phoenix, AZ office. It's solid for most routine tasks.
Cons: True flexibility for engineering projects is still pretty limited though. Even with the hybrid model, critical design reviews often demand everyone onsite. There's not much wiggle room outside the standard schedule for technical roles.
Advice to Management: Really look at where onsite presence is truly critical for technical roles. More trust in WFH for complex engineering tasks in the aerospace industry could boost morale.

Solid Pay, Benefits are Just Okay
Pros: As an Aerospace Engineer at the Phoenix office, the base salary is definitely competitive for the aerospace industry. Annual bonuses are pretty consistent too, which is nice to count on.
Cons: The health insurance plans aren't great though. Premiums seem high, and dental coverage is just okay for a big corporate company. It feels like benefits could use an upgrade for what we pay.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the health and dental benefit packages. They're not as strong as what other large defense contractors offer and it impacts overall employee satisfaction.

Leadership is hit or miss in big corporate
Pros: You can't beat the job security and benefits for a big corporate company like this. Working hybrid in the Phoenix office helps with flexibility, and there's a decent 401k match. Plus, getting to contribute to actual defense contracts is pretty cool.
Cons: The biggest issue is definitely leadership. Upper management often seems out of touch with what's happening on the ground. Decisions take forever because of all the red tape, which frustrates the engineering teams and slows down progress.
Advice to Management: Leaders need to get more involved with the technical teams. Cut through some of that corporate bureaucracy so we can actually innovate faster. Empower middle managers more.

Okay flexibility, depends on your team here
Pros: I've been a Software Engineer here, and my team had a decent hybrid model in the Phoenix, AZ office. We could usually work from home two or three days a week, which helped with that commute in the aerospace industry.
Cons: It's not consistent across the board though. Many other engineering roles or those tied to hardware development are pretty much stuck onsite. There's definitely less flexibility for some departments.
Advice to Management: It would be great if management could standardize work-from-home options across more of the corporate engineering teams. Trusting employees more with their schedules could boost morale.

Hybrid Model is Okay, Not Super Flexible
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the hybrid work model is a decent perk. I get to work from home a couple of days a week, which helps with commute time in the Phoenix office. It's nice to have some control over my schedule, even if it's limited.
Cons: Full remote isn't really an option for most in this corporate environment. There are fixed core hours you need to be online, making true work flexibility tough. Can't always pick which days are WFH, which is a bummer.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more fully remote options for certain engineering roles. Loosen up on core hours to allow more true work flexibility.

Leadership Can Be Hit or Miss at Honeywell
Pros: I've had some really smart project leads, especially within the avionics team in the Phoenix office. They really know their stuff and are good at mentoring junior Aerospace Engineer roles. It's a stable place in the aerospace industry.
Cons: There's often a lot of bureaucracy, which can slow down projects significantly. Some mid-level managers struggle with clear communication and setting strategic direction. You sometimes feel like just a number in this big corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Focus on developing stronger leadership skills across all levels. Improve communication channels and empower team leads more to make decisions without excessive red tape. A more unified vision would help.

Solid place for career stability, honestly.
Pros: You generally don't have to worry about your job disappearing overnight. As a Software Engineer in the Phoenix, AZ office, I saw that projects often have long government contracts, which helps a lot. It's a massive corporate structure, so there's usually another team or project to move to if one ends.
Cons: While stable, sometimes progress can feel really slow due to the bureaucracy. You might get moved around without much input, which can be annoying. Innovation for avionics software sometimes takes a backseat to process.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up internal mobility for employees and cut down on some of the red tape. Empower teams more on smaller projects.
