Pros: As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, I've learned a lot of practical skills on various manufacturing projects. The senior engineers are generally helpful if you ask questions, which is good for hands-on experience.
Cons: However, there isn't a clear career path or formal mentorship program here. It feels like you're stuck in the same role unless you push really hard, and even then, promotions for engineering roles are slow in this mid-sized engineering firm.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career progression paths for engineers. Invest in training and mentorship programs to help employees develop and move up, especially in our manufacturing industry. It would really boost morale and retention.
