Pros: You can sometimes get approval for personal appointments during work hours. The team for my civil engineering projects was pretty solid and helpful. It's a stable job in Kuala Lumpur, if you're okay with the traditional work setup.
Cons: True work flexibility is pretty rare as a Project Engineer. Don't expect much in terms of remote work or even hybrid options; it's mostly onsite. The hours can get really long when project deadlines loom, which makes planning tough.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more options for work flexibility, even just occasional WFH days for tasks that don't require site presence. This would really help with employee morale and work-life balance.
