Pros: The benefits package here is pretty solid. We got a decent 401k match, which is important for long-term planning. Health insurance was also okay for a mid-sized accounting firm.
Cons: Base salary for my Junior Accountant role felt on the lower side, even for Chicago. Raises weren't great, and during tax season, the overtime pay didn't really make up for the insane hours. It's tough to feel valued sometimes.
Advice to Management: Look at competitive salaries for Junior Accountant roles in the Chicago area. Better compensation for the long hours, especially during tax season, would really boost morale.
