Okay culture for manufacturing engineers in Penang.
Pros: The team in the Penang office is generally supportive. You get solid experience with industrial laser equipment and advanced manufacturing processes. It's a stable job in the electronics manufacturing industry.
Cons: Work-life balance for process engineer roles can be tough. There's often pressure for production targets. The company culture feels a bit old-school, not super dynamic.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving work-life balance for engineers. Try to update the company culture to be more engaging and less rigid for the long-term.

Predictable Schedule, Limited Flexibility
Pros: As a Production Engineer here, the schedule is pretty stable. It's a traditional onsite job in the laser manufacturing industry. You know your hours and what's expected daily, which is good for planning.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't really a thing at Hans Laser Malaysia. Don't expect to easily adjust your schedule or work remotely often. It's pretty rigid for most roles, which can be tough sometimes.
Advice to Management: Management could look into more options for flexible working hours where feasible, especially for non-production roles. This would help with employee morale and retention in the current job market.

Okay for a Start, Benefits Need Work
Pros: The base salary for a Production Engineer is actually decent if you're just starting out in laser technology manufacturing. They do offer basic medical coverage too, which is something at least.
Cons: Annual increments are almost non-existent, and the bonus structure isn't very clear or generous. Benefits package is pretty minimal compared to other corporate companies in Penang, Malaysia. There's not much room for salary growth unless you jump roles.
Advice to Management: Really look at making the pay scales and benefits more competitive. Good engineers will leave if there's no clear path for salary growth or attractive benefits. Invest more in the team.

Solid place for engineers to grow their skills
Pros: Great team here, everyone's really supportive. As a Process Engineer, I've learned tons about laser technology manufacturing. There are solid opportunities for career growth if you're keen to take them on. It's a stable company with a good culture.
Cons: Sometimes approvals for new processes or equipment feel a bit slow. This can hold up projects. Also, while compensation is okay, I feel like the benefits package could be enhanced to be more competitive overall for the industry.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining the internal approval processes to speed up project execution. Also, consider reviewing the overall benefits package to stay competitive and attract top talent in the technology industry.
