Fully remote, but flexibility can be a challenge
Pros: It's awesome to be fully remote; you can literally work from anywhere. This setup is perfect for global tech talent not tied to an office. No commute ever is a huge plus, especially for engineering roles.
Cons: The biggest con for me was the work flexibility. Even though you're remote, they enforce very strict 40-hour work weeks with specific, often overlapping, core hours. It's not flexible in the way most people think of remote work. As a Software Architect, this was tough to manage with personal life sometimes.
Advice to Management: Reconsider the strict fixed-hour policy for remote positions. More async work or flexible core hours would greatly improve work-life balance for global remote employees. True flexibility would benefit the company.

Remote work is fine, but flexibility isn't.
Pros: I loved being fully remote, working from my home office was a huge plus. For software development roles, it's nice to cut out the commute. It helps save money and time.
Cons: Despite being remote, work flexibility isn't what you'd expect. They enforce pretty strict 40-hour weeks with time tracking. It feels less flexible than some office jobs even. It's not a 'work whenever' situation.
Advice to Management: Management should really reconsider the strict time tracking and fixed schedules for remote roles. A bit more trust and actual flexibility would go a long way for employee morale and retention.
