Good Place for Learning and Growth in Consumer Goods
Pros: I've definitely seen good career growth as an Associate Product Manager. There are solid learning opportunities, internal training, and mentorship programs that help you develop. I've been able to take on diverse projects within the consumer goods portfolio, which really expands my skillset. It's a stable company with well-known brands.
Cons: Being a large multinational, things can move slowly sometimes. Approvals can take a while, and cross-functional communication isn't always as quick as it could be. This occasionally impacts project timelines and agility.
Advice to Management: Streamline approval processes and enhance cross-functional communication to improve agility and project execution across business units.

Solid Entry Point, Tough for Real Growth
Pros: You learn a lot in a big corporate company like Newell Brands. As a Marketing Specialist, I got exposure to many different brands in the consumer goods industry. It's a solid place to get foundational experience early in your career.
Cons: Upward mobility is tough here, especially for brand management roles. There's not much structured career growth past a certain point. You can feel stuck without a clear path to the next level in our Atlanta office.
Advice to Management: Please create clearer career paths and invest more in internal talent development. Mentorship programs would really help employees see a future here.

Job Security is Shaky at Best
Pros: Initially, the benefits package was solid. I also learned a lot about brand management for consumer packaged goods, which is good experience. Some of the team members in our Hoboken, NJ office were great too.
Cons: Job security here is a major concern. There have been too many rounds of layoffs, and it always feels like more are coming. It's hard to feel settled when you're constantly worried about restructuring in a large corporate company.
Advice to Management: Management needs to be more transparent about the company's direction and future plans. Constant restructuring and layoffs really hurt morale and job stability. Communicate better.

Culture's fine, but it needs a refresh
Pros: I've liked the people on my direct team in the Atlanta, GA office. We collaborate well as a Marketing Coordinator, and there's a decent focus on getting things done for our retail partners in the consumer goods industry.
Cons: The overall company culture feels a bit stagnant for a big corporate company. It's tough to get new ideas approved, and sometimes it feels like leadership is out of touch with entry-level marketing roles. There's not much enthusiasm for the hybrid work model from some older managers.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more innovation from younger talent. Listen to feedback about modern work styles and embrace the hybrid work model fully. A more dynamic culture would really help.

Culture Varies Wildly by Team Here
Pros: I've met some genuinely good people and for a Supply Chain Analyst, the work in the consumer goods industry is often interesting. The hybrid work setup in our Atlanta office is a big plus for work-life balance.
Cons: The overall company culture can feel really slow and bureaucratic. There's a lot of old-school thinking, which means new ideas sometimes struggle to gain traction in this corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Focus on breaking down departmental silos. Empower teams to innovate without so much red tape. A more modern leadership approach would really help improve morale.

Decent Pay & Benefits for a Big Company
Pros: The health insurance plan is pretty good here, and the 401k match is decent enough. For a corporate role like Marketing Specialist in the consumer goods industry, the compensation package feels pretty standard. You get what you expect.
Cons: Salary growth can be slow sometimes, especially when you compare it to other companies. There aren't many unique perks beyond the basic benefits package, so it's not a place to get rich quick. Working hybrid from the Atlanta office, the pay structure is just average.
Advice to Management: Look into more competitive salary bands for experienced roles and add some more unique employee perks to attract top talent. It would really help with retention, especially for roles in the highly competitive consumer goods industry.

Job Security is a bit shaky here
Pros: I liked working on well-known CPG brands. For Product Manager roles, the initial compensation package was pretty solid. The Hoboken office was good, too.
Cons: Job security became a big concern. There were lots of layoffs and restructuring, especially within the consumer goods industry. It made planning your career tough.
Advice to Management: Management needs to be clearer about long-term plans. More transparency on staffing decisions would help ease employee stress and improve morale.

Hybrid Model Has Potential, Needs More Flex
Pros: I liked having some WFH days. The hybrid model is good for some roles in the consumer goods industry. It's nice not to be stuck in the Atlanta office every single day.
Cons: The 'flexible' part often feels pretty fixed. As a Supply Chain Analyst, there are specific days you just have to be in the office, which defeats the purpose. Sometimes it feels like they don't trust employees with true remote work.
Advice to Management: Give managers more autonomy to decide on true flexibility. Mandating specific office days for hybrid roles doesn't really work for a modern corporate environment. Trust your employees more with WFH days.
