Great mission, solid benefits, good place to grow
Pros: As a Software Engineer at Axon, the mission to serve public safety is incredibly motivating. The compensation and benefits, especially health and 401k, are truly excellent for the tech industry. I appreciate the supportive team culture and the opportunities to learn and work with new technologies.
Cons: It can be fast-paced, so occasional longer hours are expected during crucial project phases. Also, internal approval processes could be streamlined to make decision-making quicker.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval workflows to improve project velocity and reduce bureaucratic hurdles. Also, ensure consistent communication across all levels, especially during busy periods.

Hybrid model has its moments at Axon
Pros: I've actually liked the hybrid model here; we get a couple *WFH days* a week. It's solid for managing personal stuff. The *public safety tech* we're building is pretty cool, which keeps the job interesting.
Cons: The 'flexibility' often feels like it's being pulled back. It's tough to get full remote approval, even for *engineering roles* that really don't need to be in the *Scottsdale, AZ office* daily. They're definitely pushing for more in-office time, which can affect *work-life balance*.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the full remote policy for those of us in roles that don't require a physical presence. Trust employees to manage their time and tasks effectively outside of the office, especially in a *corporate environment* like ours.

Solid place, but future feels a bit hazy
Pros: I've been here a while and generally appreciate the work. It's cool to build public safety technology, and the company itself is pretty stable. The benefits package for Software Engineer roles is decent, too.
Cons: Lately, there's been some talk about reorgs and shifting priorities. It makes you wonder how secure your spot really is, especially with the push for more hybrid work. Some folks are nervous.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about future plans and how they impact different departments. Clarity helps calm people's worries about job security.
