Job Security Is Decent, But Don't Expect Rapid Growth
Pros: As an Editorial Assistant, I've generally felt pretty secure here. Phoenix Publishing House is a stable, established publisher in New York City, so you don't really worry about mass layoffs. The work on various manuscripts is consistent, which is a big plus for job security in the book publishing world.
Cons: While job security is solid, career growth is super slow for junior editorial roles. It's tough to get promoted, so you can feel stuck without new opportunities opening up. New positions are rare in this corporate environment, even if they don't fire people often.
Advice to Management: Need to create clearer paths for career growth, especially for junior editorial roles. It's tough to stay motivated when promotions feel impossible.
