Decent Pay, Solid Benefits for FinTech Engineers
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the Alpharetta office, the base compensation for financial technology roles is pretty good. The health insurance and 401k match are solid benefits. It's a stable company, so there's good job security.
Cons: Annual raises aren't always impressive, and bonus potential for individual contributors can feel a bit low. Pay transparency could be better, especially compared to other big tech firms. Sometimes it feels like you're earning less than market for the amount of work.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation strategy, especially for mid-level Software Engineer roles. Boost annual raise percentages and make the bonus structure clearer. Investing more in competitive pay would help retain talent in this competitive FinTech market.

Hybrid Model Offers Some Flexibility, Still Room to Grow
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the fintech industry, the hybrid work model here is decent. You get a few days working from home, which helps cut down on the commute. It's nice to have that option compared to being fully onsite every day.
Cons: But honestly, the flexibility isn't truly great. We still have mandatory onsite days in the Alpharetta office, which can make planning tough. It feels like a push to return to a more traditional corporate environment, even when tasks could be done remotely.
Advice to Management: Management should really listen to employees about actual work flexibility. More true remote options or fewer mandatory onsite days would boost morale. Trust your teams to get work done, regardless of location for many roles.

Hybrid Model is Okay, But Could Be Better
Pros: I really appreciate the hybrid work model; it's nice to have some WFH days. For client services roles, it helps a lot not to commute every single day to the Alpharetta, GA office. The benefits package is solid, especially for a big corporate company like this.
Cons: The required in-office days can feel a bit arbitrary, especially when most of my client interactions are virtual anyway. There isn't much flexibility to adjust your hybrid schedule easily, even with a good reason. It feels a bit corporate sometimes, not like a modern big tech company that really trusts its employees.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the purpose of required in-office days for roles that are largely virtual. More autonomy in hybrid schedules would boost morale for our payment processing teams.

Culture is Okay, Depends on Your Team
Pros: As a Client Services Specialist, I've found some teams are really supportive and have good camaraderie. There's solid job security working in the fintech industry too.
Cons: The overall corporate culture often feels very bureaucratic and slow to change. Getting new ideas approved is tough, especially in the Alpharetta, GA office.
Advice to Management: Try to streamline processes and empower teams more. Encourage innovation and faster decision-making for a better company culture.

Pay's okay, but benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for my technical role in payment processing was pretty competitive. There's also a yearly bonus that usually pays out, which is a nice extra. The 401k match is solid, too.
Cons: Health insurance costs are a bit high, which really eats into your take-home pay. I felt the PTO accrual was slow compared to other fintech companies. Stock options aren't really a thing for most employees, which is a bummer.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the health insurance plans to make them more affordable for employees in the Alpharetta office and across the board. Consider better PTO structures and look into broader equity compensation for more roles.

Okay for now, not much long-term growth
Pros: The compensation for a Software Engineer is decent, and the benefits package is solid. I also learned a lot about payment processing systems and financial technology working on some core projects here in the Alpharetta, GA office.
Cons: Internal career growth is a big challenge. It felt like I was stuck in my role, and there aren't many clear paths to promotion. Moving teams also felt really tough, not much internal mobility for junior to mid-level roles.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to create clearer career paths and improve internal mobility programs. Encourage skill development and make it easier for employees to move into new roles.

Leadership can be hit or miss at Fiserv
Pros: Some of the project leads are genuinely smart and supportive, which is great for day-to-day work. The company's WFH setup for engineering roles is pretty solid, offering good flexibility if you're productive.
Cons: Upper leadership often feels out of touch, especially when it comes to technical decisions. There's a lack of clear vision, and it can be tough to get consistent direction for new fintech solutions. Middle management tries, but their hands are tied.
Advice to Management: Management needs to get closer to the ground-level teams and understand the actual challenges in delivering payment processing projects. More consistent messaging and less last-minute pivots would help everyone.

Decent Work-Life, Depends on Your Team
Pros: Being remote from Texas was a huge plus for me; it made family life easier. As a Senior Software Engineer, I generally had decent hours outside of big deadlines in financial technology. It's a stable company overall.
Cons: Some sprints get pretty intense, stretching past 5 PM often. You sometimes feel pressured to log on early or stay late, which hurts the work-life balance. Management expectations can be inconsistent between teams.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize workload expectations across teams to truly support a good work-life balance for all, especially for those in core development roles.

Hybrid model is okay, but not truly flexible
Pros: You do get some hybrid work opportunities, which is better than being fully onsite five days a week. For us in payment processing, a couple of WFH days a week means less commute into the Alpharetta office.
Cons: The hybrid policy feels pretty rigid; it's not true flexibility, you know? It's more of an RTO mandate with a few WFH days rather than empowering teams to choose what works best. As a big corporate, they could do better here.
Advice to Management: Management needs to really think about what 'flexibility' means. Trust your Software Engineer teams more to decide how and where they get work done, especially in the competitive FinTech industry. Stop with the blanket RTO rules.

Growth Can Be Slow for Technical Roles
Pros: You learn a ton about financial technology, which is great. For new grads starting out in this big corporate environment, it's a solid place to get experience. Being in the Alpharetta, GA office meant good access to resources and colleagues.
Cons: Career growth really isn't fast here. As a Technical Consultant, I felt like promotions were few and far between. It's tough to see a clear path for moving up, especially in technical roles, unless you're very proactive.
Advice to Management: Make career paths clearer for Technical Consultants and other IT roles. Invest more in internal promotion opportunities and provide better mentorship for advancement.
