Senior Software Engineer

Pay is okay, benefits need a boost
Pros: The health insurance is pretty solid for a mid-sized tech company, which is a big plus for families. We also get unlimited PTO, and while I don't always use it, it's a nice benefit to have.
Cons: The base salary is just decent for senior engineering roles in San Francisco, not top-tier. Stock options aren't very competitive compared to other fintech startups, so that's a bummer. The bonus structure feels pretty opaque and unpredictable.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate the stock option grants to be more competitive with other Bay Area fintech companies. Also, make the bonus structure more transparent and achievable for engineering roles; that would really help morale.

Culture is okay, but can be better.
Pros: You'll find some really smart people here, especially on the core software development teams. There's a decent push for innovation, which is cool for Software Engineer roles, and our San Francisco office has a solid vibe when everyone's in.
Cons: The hybrid work model makes it tough to build consistent connections; it feels a bit cliquey sometimes. Company culture can struggle with inclusion, and new hires might feel a bit out of the loop during their first few months.
Advice to Management: Focus on making the hybrid work model more cohesive to improve company culture. Really think about how to integrate new Software Engineer talent better and ensure everyone feels connected, not just those who've been here for ages.

Solid Job Security, But Slow Growth
Pros: Job security here is definitely a plus, especially for manufacturing roles. I didn't worry about layoffs while working as a Quality Assurance Specialist. The company feels stable and our products are always in demand.
Cons: Career growth can feel pretty slow, though. There aren't many opportunities for quick advancement. It's mostly onsite work in the Dallas, TX facility, so work flexibility isn't really a thing either.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer career paths for employees beyond just lateral moves. More training or development programs would also help.
