Pros: I really liked the people on my design team; they were super collaborative. For an Architectural Designer, the firm provides good exposure to large, complex design projects, especially with healthcare and sports. The hybrid work model in the Dallas office was a solid perk, letting me balance office time and WFH.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit corporate and sometimes rigid, which is tough for creative roles. There's a lot of emphasis on billable hours, which can make it hard to do professional development. It's not uncommon to pull longer hours when project deadlines hit, especially as an entry-level designer.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more flexibility for professional development outside of strict billable hours. Maybe create clearer paths for advancement, especially for mid-level design staff. Encourage more cross-team collaboration to break down internal silos.
