Solid Tech Company with Great Colleagues and Flexibility
Pros: I've been working as a Software Engineer in this tech company for a few years now, and I really appreciate the collaborative environment. My colleagues are super supportive, and there are always opportunities to learn new skills, especially in our fast-paced industry. The work flexibility is great, making it easy to balance personal life with professional duties. It's a pretty stable place to be for software development professionals, offering a good sense of security.
Cons: Sometimes the approval processes can feel a bit slow, especially for new features or infrastructure changes, which can occasionally impact project timelines. Also, while there are learning opportunities, career progression paths could be a bit clearer at the mid-level, as promotions don't always happen as quickly as some might hope. It's not a major issue, but something to keep in mind.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining approval workflows and providing more transparent guidelines for career advancement, especially for experienced software engineers.

It's okay, but job security worries me a bit
Pros: I got to learn a ton about the insurtech industry. The hybrid work model in the Singapore office was a definite plus. My immediate team was pretty supportive and we got along well.
Cons: Job security felt pretty low with all the constant restructuring. Management changes were frequent, which impacted our team's strategy a lot. It made planning for my career path tough.
Advice to Management: Try to create more stability for employees. Frequent organizational changes really impact morale and people's feelings of job security. Clear communication on the company's future direction would help everyone out.

Alright Pay, Decent Benefits for Insurtech
Pros: The healthcare benefits are pretty solid, and they actually kick in fast. As a Software Engineer, I did appreciate the WFH stipend, it helped with my home office setup. It's a standard benefits package.
Cons: Compensation isn't competitive, especially in the current market for tech roles. I felt underpaid compared to other big tech companies. There's not much room for salary negotiation either, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the salary bands to be more competitive for technical roles. Investing more in compensation will help retain talent in the insurtech sector.
