Pros: As a Junior Consultant, most weeks I got my 40 hours in without too much trouble. When it wasn't a crazy client engagement, I felt like I had a decent amount of personal time. The team often pushed for manageable schedules, which was good.
Cons: There were definite crunch times, especially with big project deadlines in the consulting industry. It's hard to have great work-life balance when you're pulling late nights to meet client expectations. Work flexibility wasn't always an option during those busy periods.
Advice to Management: Focus on better project scope management to prevent burnout during critical client phases. Maybe staff a bit more generously for those peak times.
