Decent Work-Life Balance for Cafe Managers
Pros: As a Cafe Manager, I found the schedule pretty consistent for the F&B industry. We mostly stuck to fixed shifts, which really helped with planning my personal life. The team support at the Kuala Lumpur outlets was solid.
Cons: Some weekends can be super intense, especially at our busiest locations. You still get your days off, but you're definitely working hard during your onsite work shifts. It's not always easy to swap shifts.
Advice to Management: Try to give managers more support during peak weekend shifts, maybe hire extra part-timers for the busiest coffee shop hours.

Great Place to Start in the Coffee Industry
Pros: I appreciate the strong team environment. My colleagues are always ready to help out, which makes busy shifts much smoother. I've gained valuable skills in managing daily operations and customer interactions, which is great for my career path in the food and beverage industry. The company also emphasizes product knowledge, keeping us updated on new coffee blends and brewing techniques. It's a pretty stable job in Kuala Lumpur, which is a plus.
Cons: While the growth opportunities exist, the promotion process can feel a bit slow sometimes. It's not always clear what steps are needed to move up, which can be frustrating. Also, during peak hours, things can get pretty intense, and it sometimes feels like we could use more staff to ease the workload. Communication about scheduling changes could also be improved for better work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Focus on transparent career development paths. Clearer guidelines for promotions and regular check-ins on employee goals would really help motivation. Also, consider staffing levels during peak times to reduce burnout and improve the overall employee experience, especially for our dedicated onsite team.
