Company Reviews

As the world’s largest food and beverage company we are driven by a simple aim: unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come. To deliver on this, we serve with passion, with a spirit of excellence, offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. Our culture is based on our values rooted in respect: respect for ourselves, respect for others, respect for diversity and respect for the future.

We can trace our origin back to 1866, when the first European condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. One year later, Henri Nestlé, a trained pharmacist, launched one of the world’s first prepared infant cereals ‘Farine lactée’ in Vevey, Switzerland.

Today, we employ around 273,000 people and have factories or operations in almost every country in the world. With our headquarters still based in the Swiss town of Vevey, we had sales of CHF 84.3 billion in 2020.

Our portfolio covers almost every food and beverage category – offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families.

Solid Company, Great Pay & Benefits in FMCG
Pros: Nestlé offers a really solid compensation package for its Supply Chain Analyst roles, especially here in Solon, a key location for the food and beverage industry. The health benefits are comprehensive, and their 401k match is pretty generous, which definitely helps with financial planning and retirement savings. It’s a stable, multinational company, so there's a good sense of job security and you get to learn a lot.
Cons: While the overall pay and benefits are great, career progression can sometimes feel a bit slow within such a large corporation. There's a lot of established process, which is expected for an FMCG giant, but it can make moving up or trying new departmental initiatives take longer than you'd like. Also, internal communication across different business units could be more streamlined.
Advice to Management: Continue to invest in leadership development programs to help streamline decision-making processes, and look for ways to make internal career paths clearer for employees.

Good Place to Grow in Consumer Goods
Pros: I've really enjoyed my role as a Supply Chain Analyst here. The team is super collaborative, and I always feel supported by my colleagues. There are tons of learning opportunities, especially for professional development in the food and beverage industry. It's a very stable company, so there's good job security. Plus, the hybrid work model from our Arlington, VA office is fantastic for work-life balance.
Cons: One area that could improve is the speed of career growth; promotions can feel a bit slow sometimes due to the sheer size of the organization. Communication could also be more streamlined across different departments. The approval processes for new initiatives can occasionally be quite lengthy and bureaucratic, which sometimes slows things down for Supply Chain projects.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal communication channels and reviewing the promotion paths to ensure ambitious employees feel they have clear opportunities for advancement within the company.
