Work-Life Balance is Okay, But Project Deadlines are Tough
Pros: I've worked as an Interior Designer here for a few years. When things are slow, the work-life balance is pretty decent. We get interesting interior design projects and the team in the Kuala Lumpur office is generally supportive.
Cons: However, when project deadlines hit, expect long hours. It's common to work weekends to finish client presentations. This mid-sized firm sometimes struggles with resource allocation, making it hard to maintain a consistent schedule.
Advice to Management: Managers should try to plan project timelines more realistically and perhaps hire more staff to spread the workload, especially during peak seasons. Burnout is a real concern for the design team.
