Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: The medical benefits are pretty solid for a mid-sized company in Kuala Lumpur. They even cover dependents, which is a big plus. As a Software Engineer, the base salary is competitive enough for entry-level roles in the IT industry here.
Cons: Annual raises are usually really small, sometimes barely keeping up with inflation. There's not much transparency on bonus structures, and they feel pretty inconsistent year to year. Benefits like stock options or advanced learning allowances are totally non-existent.
Advice to Management: Review the salary progression framework and make bonus structures clearer and more transparent. Investing in employee growth through better allowances for training would really help retention, especially for experienced software development professionals. Show more
