Pros: The team here is pretty solid, which makes the long hours more bearable. You learn a lot about customer service in a busy coffee shop environment. We do get some free coffee, which is a nice perk for onsite work.
Cons: Work-life balance is tough because they often ask for double shifts. For us Cafe Assistants, those evening shifts can really mess with your schedule. It's hard to plan anything outside of work in this Brooklyn cafe when your hours are so inconsistent.
Advice to Management: Try to be more consistent with schedules for your restaurant staff. Burnout is real when people are constantly doing double shifts.
