Junior Trader
2.9
15 December 2025
Long hours are standard in NYC trading.
Pros: The learning curve is steep, which is great for career growth in finance. You get exposure to market hours daily. Pay is decent for entry-level trading roles and there's a good team vibe in the New York City office.
Cons: Work-life balance here is definitely a struggle, especially for us on the trading desk. Expect very long onsite workdays, often 12+ hours. Weekends can get pulled in too, making it hard to maintain a personal life.
Advice to Management: Think about how to ease the burden on Junior Traders. Even small things like protected weekends or flexible WFH days could help improve morale and retention.
