Stable Environment with Great Teammates in the Electrical Industry
Pros: I've really appreciated the job stability here at Firefly Electric & Lighting Corporation. It's a solid company in the electrical products industry, and you feel secure. My colleagues are super supportive, making it easy to learn the ropes as a Sales Coordinator. There's a strong focus on teamwork, and I've gained a lot of knowledge about lighting solutions and client relations. The work environment is generally positive and collaborative.
Cons: Sometimes the approval processes can feel a bit slow for an established manufacturing company, which can occasionally impact getting things done quickly for clients. There are periods of high workload, especially during product launches or peak sales seasons, which can test work-life balance. Communication across departments could also be smoother, but it's improving.
Advice to Management: I'd suggest looking into streamlining some of the internal approval workflows to help us serve clients more efficiently. Also, more resources during peak seasons could help balance the workload for teams. Improving inter-departmental communication channels would also be a big win.

Leadership at Firefly can be inconsistent
Pros: My direct manager was usually pretty solid, always there to help with tricky electrical components or new lighting solutions designs. They foster a good team vibe for the day-to-day, which helps when you're an Electrical Engineer tackling complex tasks.
Cons: Upper management changes direction a lot. It's tough when you're deep into a project for power distribution and suddenly the strategy shifts with no real explanation. Communication from the top isn't always clear, which is frustrating for onsite work in a corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Try to keep leadership's vision more consistent across the board. Clearer communication from senior levels would help everyone, especially with major projects and strategy changes. This would really improve morale and project delivery.

Decent base, but benefits need a boost
Pros: As a Lighting Product Designer here, the base salary is pretty standard for the electrical products industry in Manila. You're paid a decent entry-level wage, which is fine. There's also a fairly reliable annual bonus if the company hits its targets.
Cons: But the overall pay and benefits package isn't very competitive. Health insurance is pretty basic, and there's not much room for salary growth unless you really fight for it. Firefly Electric could definitely do more with 401k matching or offer better professional development funds.
Advice to Management: Focus on making the compensation more competitive. Better health plans and stronger retirement contributions would go a long way to retain talent in this electrical manufacturing industry.

Decent place, but slow career growth for many
Pros: I've gained valuable experience in the electrical products industry, which is a plus. The team in the Manila office is generally supportive and friendly. It's a stable company, so job security feels pretty decent.
Cons: Career growth is definitely a challenge for marketing specialist roles. There aren't many clear paths for promotion, and skill development opportunities are rare. It's tough to see how you'll move up quickly.
Advice to Management: Please create more structured career development plans for employees. It would really help with retention if people could see a clear path for growth, especially in specialized roles like marketing.

Sales Representative

Decent pay, but benefits need improvement
Pros: The base salary for a Sales Representative in the electrical industry is pretty good. Commissions are okay if you consistently hit targets selling lighting products, which helps. It's a stable corporate environment.
Cons: The health benefits package isn't very competitive, honestly, especially compared to other corporate firms. Bonuses aren't consistent either, which can be tough when you're counting on them. Pension contributions feel a bit low; it'd be great to see an increase.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing the health benefits and pension plans. Improving these would really help retain talent, especially for those in client-facing sales positions within the corporate structure.

Work-Life Balance is Decent, Can Get Busy
Pros: Most days, as an Electrical Engineer here, you get pretty standard hours. It's an onsite role in the Manila office, so there's a routine. For the manufacturing sector, the general pace is solid.
Cons: Project deadlines for new lighting solutions or electrical components can mean longer days. Work flexibility isn't really a thing, so plan your personal time carefully. It's tough when big projects hit.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more work flexibility or clearer project load management. It would really help with employee morale during peak times.

Decent Pay but Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: As an Electrical Engineer here, the base salary is actually pretty competitive for the electrical and lighting industry in Manila. I've seen worse, and it's a solid foundation for living in the city. There's also a yearly bonus, which is a nice perk if company targets are met.
Cons: The benefits package isn't great. Health insurance is just okay, and things like retirement plans or other long-term financial incentives feel pretty basic for a corporate environment. It feels like they could do more for long-term employees.
Advice to Management: Focus on enhancing the benefits package, especially long-term financial planning options. It would really help with employee retention.

Okay for stability, not much flexibility.
Pros: The job security is pretty good, it's a stable local manufacturer. You get to work on a lot of different lighting products. It's a decent place for entry-level engineering roles in the electrical industry.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't really a thing here. You're expected onsite every day, no WFH options for most roles. My schedule as an Electrical Engineer was pretty rigid, standard 8-5.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing some hybrid work options for engineering teams. It would really help with employee morale and retention. Modernizing policies on work flexibility is key.

Production Technician

Decent for production, but job stability is mixed.
Pros: As a Production Technician, I appreciated the steady onsite work in the manufacturing plant. We usually had consistent orders for lighting products, so work hours were predictable. The team's pretty solid too, makes the daily grind easier.
Cons: Job security isn't always clear. Sometimes contracts for electrical components shift, and there's a worry about layoffs, especially for us on the production floor. Pay could be better for the amount of work we do.
Advice to Management: Improve communication about long-term company plans and future contracts to ease job security worries. Invest in retraining for manufacturing roles to help with internal mobility and skill diversification.
