Solid flexibility for remote dev, with a few bumps.
Pros: Being a remote software engineer here is pretty good for managing your own schedule. I've found the work flexibility around daily tasks is decent, especially for asynchronous communication in cloud media management. You can mostly set your own hours.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines get super tight, which can erase that flexibility fast. You're expected to be available for team syncs, which means certain core hours are non-negotiable despite being remote. It's tough when you're working on complex SaaS developer tools.
Advice to Management: Try to plan projects with more realistic buffer times to maintain the great remote flexibility you offer. Help teams manage dependencies better across time zones.
