Leadership needs to step up big time

Pros: Some of the team leads are genuinely supportive, especially for new software engineers. They really know their stuff in IT solutions and are good mentors. The hybrid work setup is a big plus too.
Cons: Upper management often seems out of touch with daily operations. It feels like decisions are made without understanding the ground-level impact for technical roles. Communication from the top down isn't always clear.
Advice to Management: Listen more to your teams, especially the individual contributors. Try to understand the day-to-day challenges in software development before making big calls. Better communication would go a long way. Show more

Okay Place, Culture Needs Some Work

Pros: My direct team members are really supportive, which helps a lot as a Project Manager. They also offer solid hybrid work options if you're in the Kuala Lumpur office, which is a big plus. The projects themselves in the software development industry are often interesting.
Cons: Communication from upper management isn't always clear, it's tough to get direct answers sometimes. There's still a strong 'face time' mentality even with hybrid work, which can feel unnecessary. Decision-making feels slow and a bit bureaucratic.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving internal communication and trust your teams with the hybrid work model. Less micromanagement would boost morale and make things feel more modern. Transparency is key here. Show more
